✔️ The International Conferences on Food Digestion (ICFD)

The ICFD conferences were initiated in 2012 in Cesena, Italy, within the framework of INFOGEST. Since then, they have become a major scientific event that focuses exclusively on food digestion. The conferences cover oral processing and sensory properties of food; food structures, digestion and imaging technologies; bioaccessibility/absorption of beneficial and harmful compounds; in vitro, in vivo, and in silico models of digestion and absorption; and the impact of food on gut microbiota.

These conferences are a major event in the field of Food, Nutrition and Health. It is organized in the frame of the INFOGEST, a global network of approximately 700 research scientists (academic and food companies) from 200 institutions across 52 countries. "Improve the health properties of food by sharing our knowledge on the digestive process" is the major goal of INFOGEST.

The Conference has been created by Infogest and is now an event regularly followed by more than 200 scientists from tens of country (see here-below figure from Ref. "Dupont D. et al., Food Research International, 2019, 118, pp.1-3") :

➡️ 8th International Conference on Food Digestion: 2024

The 8th International Conference on Food Digestion (ICFD2024) was held in the city of Porto, Portugal on 9-11th April 2024.​ It achieved a record number of 400 delegates and strengthened connections with the Latin America branch of INFOGEST.

➡️ 7th International Conference on Food Digestion: 2022

The 7th INFOGEST conference was held from May 2 to 4, 2022 in Cork, Ireland. It brought together 250 participants from some 30 countries. 25 oral presentations were selected by the scientific committee from over 220 abstracts received. Of particular note this year was a session dedicated to the relationship between food - digestion - intestinal microbiota. Following the conference, an INFOGEST workshop was organized to review the progress of work carried out in parallel by the 7 working groups.
